Shiver me timbers, this game is weird -- but fun.
The gameplay is repetitive, so you'll need to accept that. However, you can unlock some great, intricate combos here that are impressive to watch, whether you're unleashing a kick from a buxom babe that sends hundreds of enemies flying, or letting loose with the unpredictable Whitebeard – or Blackbeard, for that matter.
I also like the boss battles. They're unpredictable and a lot of fun to go through, especially when they unleash some unexpected super-form that defies logic. Hammering them with an unexpected finishing attack is pure satisfaction – even if there's no way it could ever happen, maybe not even in the anime series itself.
While the graphics are hardly "wow-worthy," Namco does a good job recapturing the One Piece universe into gaming form. Sometimes things can be too chaotic, especially when it comes to maintaining control of camera movements. However, some scenes are definitely a blast to watch, and the character selection is vast. And, yes, guys, there are some hot babes to do damage with, so your guilty pleasure quotient is filled.
