According to recent statistics, the Xbox One has already sold out of preorders at most US retailers and is trending higher than the Xbox 360 ever did.
Despite some of Microsoft’s recent marketing and PR flubs, the hype train for the Xbox One is showing no signs of slowing down as preorders for the console have already sold out at most US retailers.
The news was first announced by Microsoft spokesperson and Director of Programming for Xbox Live Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb via Twitter:
And again by Microsoft Chief of Staff for Devices and Studios Aaron Greenberg:
It’s important to remember that several factors, such as the stronger presence of online console preorders which weren’t as prevalent when the Xbox 360 launched not to mention the all of the exposure and growth the gaming community has seen during the time period between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, are likely strong contributors to the Xbox One’s popularity.
Still, the fact remains that these are very impressive statistics for Microsoft and they no doubt prove that the Xbox One is still a very strong contender for when the next generation of consoles launches later this year.
