With Easter coming, it got me thinking, who are the top 5 Easter Bunnies of the Gaming world?
#4 Mips the Rabbit/Super Mario, Super Mario 64/Super Mario Land 2: The Legend of the 6 Coins
The next group on this countdown are a two-for-one deal, located in Princess Peach’s Castle and the strange world of “Mario Land,” where Mario Land 2 takes place. Mips is the Rabbit that is running around the basement of the Princess’s castle and was given a secret star by Bowser to hold onto. There are two rabbits in Princess Peach’s Castle and each time Mario catches him, he gives up the star that he was holding onto. However these rabbits appear in the Mario 64 DS remake and there are several rabbits, each one has a key that unlocks mini-games for the player to play, rather than stars. Mips looks like the average rabbit, long ears and hops pretty fast. You need to time your jumps to be able to catch this rabbit. For those who try to complete every game that they play, you have to catch the two Mips to get every star in Super Mario 64.Number 4- Mips the Rabbit
Now we get into the other number 4, Rabbit Mario. In Super Mario Land 2, you had your common Mario power-ups like the Fire Flower and the Starman. Then you had the carrot, that was new to the Mario-verse and hasn’t been seen since Mario Land 2. This power-up gave Mario rabbit-like ears and allowed for gliding, when the ears were flapped, similar to wings. Early on in the lifetime of Mario, it appears that they couldn’t decide on how to make Mario be able to fly. You had the carrot, you had the raccoon leaf, you had the flying carpet in Mario 2. It just seemed like they couldn’t make up their minds on how to make Mario fly. Still, the rabbit carrot is one of the more original power-ups in the Mario series. It could rank up there with the Frog Suit and the Hammer Brothers Suit in terms of unique. It doesn’t help Mario jump but he doesn’t need help jumping. The carrot gives Mario the appearance of a rabbit and that’s good enough for me. Number 4- Rabbit Mario
