Command the Fleet!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Station Command on Steam.

Station Command is an interesting combination of strategy and role-playing game. You play the role of the new commander of Watchpoint Station. Watchpoint Station is like the odd group out in the middle of nowhere. The last commander was an issue, thus the reason why you took over.

As a captain, you'll receive transmissions from other people who might need your help in the universe. These could range from doing the right thing to somethings that are ethically unsound. You'll have to decide what's more important, parts or integrity. I like the character design of the characters. I really like the look of the Personal Virtual Intelligence, or PeVI for short. She is like our assistant, trying to help out and steer us in the right direction.

Combat in the game is interesting. You have a few ships to start but as you defeat enemy fleets, you can grab new ships to add to your fleet. You can also salvage new weapons and parts through the same means. Different types of ships can have different weapons/parts equipped so be prepared. you can also buy things from the shop so save up. I found myself doing the small missions first to gain parts/money before I went into the bigger fights. If a ship goes down in combat, you lose everything attached to said ship. That being said, you have access to all kinds of stuff so losing a ship shouldn't be that big of a blow.

All-in-all, I'm liking what I'm seeing from Station Command. The cross between combat and story feel interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing more from it. Make sure you check out the hands-on video below!
