Clay Shooter!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking a Platypus Reclayed on Steam. An old school shooter brought back into the modern world.

Let me start out by saying that this game has a look to it that I love. The Claymation-like style is right up my alley. The music adds to that charm as well. While playing, you'll have the option to play co-op. The game is pretty tough as there will be plenty of enemies on screen so having some help could be useful. I started the video on normal and changed it to easy mode because normal was pretty tough and I wanted to get through more of the game of the video. There are different ships to pick from, each with their pros and cons. Play the game and try them all out to get the best for your playstyle.

You can hold down the shoot button to fire, and I used that a lot. There were a lot of enemies on screen and that was one of the ways I could survive, shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. You'll also be able to power up your attacks. If your familiar with game 1942, you can shoot all the same-colored ships in a row to unlock a power up. If you get hit, you lose the power up so be careful. Power ups range from wide shot to auto fire and more. I mentioned that I was playing on easy mode, and you get ore cannons for your ship when you start in that mode. You can also gain extra lives by shooting down ships and gaining points. You will need more lives throughout because this game is tough, no matter the gameplay mode. The power ups have a time limit as well so be careful. You can also gain silly attacks like donuts, and it felt like those power ups were super powerful so be on the lookout for them. You'll also have continues so if you lose all your lives, you'll be able to restart.

I made it a point to mention how much I loved the clay style of Platypus. That being said, l I think it does make things a little difficult to see what you're actually trying to hit and dodge. There were a few times, I found myself getting hit when I had no idea there was something coming or a bullet was on screen. Fans of the bullet hell/shooter games like Glaxian will want to check out Platypus Reclayed.
