Let's Take a Road Trip!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at Deadly Days Roadtrip, a roguelike game where the zombies are coming!
The zombie invasion is coming but you want to enjoy your roadtrip. Plan your strategy in this bullet hell roguelike. The better you do in playthroughs, the better material you'll get to upgrade your stats. Getting an HP or attack boost could be the key to survival. I have to say that the music is this game is top notch and I was grooving along to the tunes while playing.
Each day/location, you'll be tasked with gathering fuel for your bus to get away. You'll want to find fuel and supplies quickly because if you stick around at dusk/night, you could be overwhelmed by zombies. While hunting for fuel, you'll be able to find different weapons and items that will help you survive. You could find roller skates that make you move faster or a shotgun so you can have a spreader-like weapon. You have a limit of tools you can hold and you will have to store the rest in your backpack. At the end of the day, you'll have to decide what you want to keep and what you want to scrap. At the same time, you might find broken weapons/items and can fix them. A broken shotgun could be fixed and become the best weapon you have. It was a little tough to figure out how to get rid of/switch weapons in your bag but I eventually figured it out. The same could be said with figuring out how to get the item description to stay on screen. The game has auto aim where you attack automatically but you can also manually aim with the control stick. You can also dash to move faster as well as dodge enemy attacks.
I mentioned the game has some RPG elements in it as well. Like most roguelike games, you'll die in battle and learn from your mistakes. In this case, you'll collect apples to use to upgrade skills/stats. I think in this instance, you'll want to upgrade speed, HP, and melee damage. More hit points and movement speed will help your survival.
