Can you solve the mysteries of On Your Tail?
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at On Your Tail on Steam. This game will also be coming to consoles but at the time of recording, it has yet to be added so stay tuned.
Before I say anything, I think On Your Tail has some of my favorite designed characters. while playing, you really get to know these characters and their emotions are shown off by their facial expressions/designs.
You start out as Diana in a college lecture online and it's so relatable. It's relatable because the professor does what every professor in college does, takes a lead pipe to your confidence and smashes it into a million pieces. Diana thought she had a good idea for her paper but that's over now so she'll have to go back to the ole writing board. She decides to follow in her grandmother's footsteps and travel to try and get ideas for her composition. Enter the lovely location of Borgo Marina!
There are a lot of gameplay modes in On Your Tail. You will be dealt cards to try and figure out your next move in certain situations. when something shows itself, you might have the option to investigate or leave it alone. While in the college lecture I mentioned earlier, we had the option to ask the professor for advice or leave it alone. It's interesting to see where the story will go next with this "choose your own path" feel to the game. You'll find mini games during the stay in Borgo Marina like playing a round of marbles on the beach for example. You'll have to explore and find them all!
I mentioned in the title that there is mystery involved in On Your Tail. Did you think you were going to this island to relax? I really like how the mystery aspect is presented in a board game scenario like Clue. It has board game pieces representing the characters involved and you're trying to deduce what happened. If you have played the Detective Pikachu games, you'll be familiar with the deductions/crime solving sections. On Your Tail looks like a fun, interesting time and I'd like to thank the devs for a review code.
