Can you survive?

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Ashfield Hollow on Steam.

This game reminds me a lot of Stardew Valley. You get brought into a settlement as the new guy in town. The problem in this universe is that there is a zombie uprising. You survived said uprising out by yourself, but people of the settlement found you and brough you in. You'll be able to have relationships with these people and help them with their problems/quests. You'll also be able to build said relationships with the people so who knows where that will go. Some of the people don't like you, as you're a new survivor. Area resources will have another mouth to feed and so on. However, they put you to work and you get a house all to yourself.

There is crafting, hunting/fishing and more. You'll be able to craft and then equip equipment to the hot bar at the bottom and use it with a controller. I enjoy playing these types of games with a controller instead of a keyboard/mouse.

There are lot of people in the settlement, and you'll have to get to know all of them. You might get some good stuff from the people so give them a chance. You'll also be able to grow plants from seeds, catch fish and more. You'll have to pull your weight to stay in the area. That shouldn't be a problem with all the zombies to kill. You get an axe to cut down trees for wood and a sword in case of zombies. You'll want to use that sword and other tools because you level them up the more you use them. You'll also get a gun and a lot of bullets to use. Aiming isn't great as it's a dual aiming system but it doesn't take too much to learn.

The coolest part of the game is the town a little further away from the settlement. I wasn't expecting an overrun city two screens over from my house. You'll be able to find all kinds of things in buildings since you can loot the rooms. Just be careful because one time I thought a room was empty and a zombie came in from outside.

Ashfield Hollow is an interesting idea for the game. Get to know the villagers and help keep them alive. If you're lucky, you might get to know one of them good enough where you become more than another mouth to feed in town.
