Should you “steer clear” of TNT Racers?
TNT Racers: Nitro Machines Edition is a wild multiplayer race game that plays by its own “rules of the road.” The best comparison that I can make is that it reminds me a lot of the classic Off-Road racing games from the NES/arcade days. TNT Racers is an easy to pick up race game with the emphasis on “don’t get passed by.”
The game has three modes to play in single player mode. They are Career mode, Custom mode, and Tournament mode. Career mode teaches you the basics of the game such as how the different game-play modes work such as Knock out mode. Knock out mode is where you try to reach the knock out point total first.
Career mode also has different “levels” I guess is a good way to describe them. You proceed through the different levels by performing different tasks in the various races and then you can advance to different levels, more difficult than the last. There are different cars to choose from and after each level/mission you complete, you can unlock a new car to use as well as different colors.
The multiplayer aspect plays a lot like Mario Kart where there is non-stop action and different items to use. The game-play at times gets crazy when you get taken out of the race if the action gets too far ahead of you. You can use items such as the oil gun and the Tesla Coil to fight your way to the front of the pack and win the race.
