Even with mild issues, this is a must for role-playing fans.
Square Enix was, at one point, considered the go-to company for Final Fantasy games. It still is, especially with Lightning Returns on par for a release early next year. However, in recent years, the company has managed to create something new with the Kingdom Hearts franchise. This partnership with Disney has paid off immensely, introducing a number of fresh and familiar characters across a variety of adventures, ranging from the PlayStation 2 to the Nintendo 3DS.
To celebrate the legacy of the original that started it all, Square has released Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, which takes the classic PlayStation 2 game and reintroduces it with a better camera control system, improved visuals and the same classic gameplay you remember. Not only that, but there are some extras in the package you'll want to make note of as well.
As you journey through the game, you'll run across some classic Disney scenes that are recreated almost perfectly, like going into the water with Ariel in The Little Mermaid – fish tail and all – or arriving in Wonderland and dealing with a few rogue playing cards. These are just two of the many places scattered throughout the game, and even though there aren't any new Disney locales – they're obviously being saved for the forthcoming Kingdom Hearts III – the ones featured here are as majestic and wonderful as they've ever been.
