A reboot of classic adventure game Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded shows it may be time to stop the Viagra and retire the long running series
The one and only notoriously famous video game perv Larry returns in Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded, a remake of the 1987 classic point-and-click adventure game developed by nFusion Interactive and published by Replay Games. Larry finds himself trying to get lucky and lose his virginity once and for all in the city of Lost Wages, a parody of Las Vegas, but will he finally be able to score? Although the game looks to remain faithful to its original counterpart, sometimes trying to stay too close to the source material can be a bad thing, and Land of the Lounge Lizards is no exception.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign by creator Al Lowe, Larry’s retro adventure was updated so fans of old and new could once again experience the classic adventure series. Voice acting is top notch in the reboot with longtime Larry actor Jan Rabson lending his nasally voice to the coveted hero and Brad Venable as the loveable narrator. Whereas voice acting didn’t come to the series until much later on, it’s a very welcoming addition here that enhances the comedy and narrative.
