Feel the beat with this unique musical adventure.

Beatbuddy: Tale Of The Guardians is full of environmental puzzles that attempt to halt you from your straightforward progress through the world. The game features six levels full of music and potential danger. The puzzles featured in the game range from easy to moderate. You will be moving power sources to dormant doors, avoiding simple attacks, and unlock barriers. While there are missions that allow you to control vehicles, use a chain gun, and partner with another Symphonia resident known as Clef the overall gameplay is essentially simple and straight to the point. The game is about the experience of navigating through the world, and experience the music that Symphonia has to offer.

While some games use music to simply underscore the action in the scene, Beatbuddy exudes it from its pores. From the depths of Symphonia, music is practically ingrained through out its oceanic plates. From the moment the game begins, you will begin to nod your head, move your shoulders, and tap your foot. Since the music is such a big part of the game, it never feels forced or over used. The music begins subtle and evolves to become a truly enjoyable experience. While the use of musical phrases such as Melody, Harmony, and Clef used as characters names can seem a bit cheesy at first, it all makes sense once you begin to experience the world of Symphonia.

Beatbuddy: Tale Of The Guardians is a great experience. The graphics and presentation are detailed and simplistic allowing you to focus on the world itself. The gameplay is a bit to simple for my tastes and the game is too short. I would have preferred six more levels and more challenging gameplay experiences. With that said, Beatbuddy is still a fantastic game that everyone should experience. Buy yourself a good pair of headphones; sit back, and save the world of Symphonia. You will be glad you did.

Score: 7 / 10
