Anime Guys and Girls Still Know How To Kick Ass!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at Etheria Restart on Steam.
I usually tend to be a little hesitant of games like Etheria Restart that have you download a game launcher on your PC. I have been burned by that in the past but Etheria Restart feels different. The age old story holds true, Anime waifus know how to kick some serious ass. The same can be said for the Anime men too. I really like the character designs for this game. Etheria Restart is an RPG Gacha game where you can perform tasks to unlock all kinds of currency and items. In turn these items can upgrade your characters as well as allow you to unlock new characters. There are quite a few characters in this game and for the most part as Squidward once said, "Oh No They're Hot!" That might be the same as liking the designs but so be it.
I don't want to spoil the story of Etheira Restart but the main character goes into the tutorial section and has a major tech issue. Said tech issue makes them get thrown out of the simulator and suffer from partial memory loss. You are a Hyperlinker in the world of Etheria to uncover the truth. You'll also have to figure out the best Animuses to use in combat. The RPG turn based fighting feels fantastic and simple to pick up. There will be plenty of time to learn combat because there are plenty of encounters to run into. In battle, think Pokemon rules where different attacks have different strengths and weaknesses. It isn't a deal breaker to not know weaknesses but it could help you in battle. You'll also have the option to equip new items/equipment to your teammates to power them up. An added HP bonus through a new item could be the different between winning and losing. There is a cool down system during battles where you can use attacks but can't use them one after the other. You'll have to learn what attacks work best and when.
There are a lot of characters to unlock. If you're familiar with AFK Journey, you can pick characters that you'd like to have a better change of getting during the pulls. That way, you can set up a wanted list in a way of the characters you want to get first. There is plenty to unlock and discover so you'll have plenty of currency. To sum up, Etheria: Restart is a turn based RPG with anime-like characters. I love turn based RPGs and Etheria: Restart scratches that itch for me.
