Hive Mind!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Hive Blight on Steam. Fans of the roguelite auto battling genre will want to look into this one.

I have a bit of experience with the auto battler genre. I have played the likes of AFK journey in the past and have really enjoyed it. Hive Blight is a similar formula. A difference is that it goes more into the roguelite elements for the game where you can find things to help you advance. You'll be able to get more fighters for your squad as well as new items/skills. Be mindful of the different paths you can take. One wrong move could be curtains for your team. OR you could get the bonfire at a perfect time to heal your party.

There are different types of characters you can use in this game. I found out very early that the ranged fighters were amazing and helped in combat a lot. The tank bugs also helped a lot because they could take a lot of damage and do some substantial in return. Find out what your team needs and go to spaces on the route to get more fighters. In these types of games, I usually try to go with more troop options and items before I go to more encounters. You'll also have the ability to evolve your troops to make them stronger so keep an eye out for that spot on the map. I also found myself stopping in the treasure space because you can get free equipment for your party. You'll be able to equip the treasure/equipment to your bug army so plan for it. Each member of the party can have two equipped at one time.

You'll also have to keep an eye out for when party members fall in battle. You'll collect healing potions during the journey and when team members fall, they'll auto recover. You'll also be able to heal at times on the map so plan ahead for that too. If you fall in battle, you can retry the fight or flee from it. If you run out of healing potions/revival potion, it's the end of the line. Make sure you also make full use of the various shops/locations on the map to strengthen the team. You can buy things at the shop for example.

Fans of the auto battling genre will want to check out Hive Blight when they get the chance.Make sure you check out the hands-on video below!
