Is this expansion worth a full retail release? Find out in our review!

Customization is a large part of this expansion. You can now customize your character like never before. From hair to scars, you can truly make your warrior your own. You will also still choose between the fighter, strider, and mage vocations that determine your abilities and weapons. The problem with the customization is that the changes are all generic. The hair and scar models seem to be what was left over from the selling of THQ’s assets. Many of the same models were used in WWE 13. This is disappointing.

Character customization is not as robust as it should be.

Dark Arisen is simply an expansion to an ok game. The game does deliver on customization and new environments yet neither is as deep or robust as it could be. This could have easily been a $9.99 DLC pack. While the game does still open the genre to new players, there is nothing here unique or different here for those who have already experienced Dragon’s Dogma. This is definitely one expansion that you can pass on.

Someone call Kratos, his cat is loose again!

Score: 6 / 10
