Is this expansion worth a full retail release? Find out in our review!

The presentation of Dark Arisen seems unchanged from the original Dragon’s Dogma. The graphics look good but they are not great. The textures are a bit rough at times and the original environments themselves are just not that interesting. The new underground realm presents an interesting change of scenery and new creatures. Still, there is not enough here to warrant a full retail release.

The mages are powerful.

The presentation sill has moments of brilliance. The monsters are gruesome and imposing. The music is great and always adds to the gameplay experience. The voice acting in the cutscenes is good but sounds wooden and stiff when talking to characters within the world. Still, Dark Arisen looks good but we expected more.

The AI is very effective.
