Is this expansion worth a full retail release? Find out in our review!

The gameplay in Dark Arisen is more of the same, which is neither good nor bad. The gameplay is slightly exceptional. Combat is fluid and smooth. Being able to switch between the primary weapon and the secondary weapons are easy and opens up many combat options. The pawns are still as loyal as ever. There are new customization options for them to augment their abilities.

The pawns are very loyal and useful.

The main problem with the gameplay is the overpowering strength of enemies. It is difficult at times to judge the power of the enemies in the game. It becomes frustrating to battle a horde of powerful enemies only to find out that your level is to low to contend with them. After dying a few times, we then decided to stick to the main quest until our levels advanced before we adventured around the world.

Combat against large monsters is fun.
