Can this expiremental spin-off slice through the reputation of its predecessors or is it a dull entry into the franchise? Find out in our review!
Metal Gear Rising: Revengance is fun…period. The game takes hack and slash to a whole new level creating a new and fun method of gameplay. While the gameplay may appear to be nothing more than a gimmick at first slash, players will quickly begin to enjoy the amount of damage and destruction they can deal with their sword.
Ingesting the insides of your enemies is a quick way to refill your health meter.
While the story attempts to structure a character study focusing on a man attempting to hide who he truly is in hopes to become who he wants to be, it is not as well structured as other narratives from the Metal Gear Solid series. While fans will be happy that this game will be accepted into the Metal Gear Solid cannon, hopefully this is not the last we see of Raiden or Metal Gear Solid spin-offs in general. The game at time does feel like and experiment (probably due to the changes in development teams) and the compaign seems short, but in my opinion it is an experiment gone right. Metal Gear Solid is available now. Pick it up, or Jack will rip you a new one!
Raiden will come across many difficult battles in his quest for revengeance.
