The story of Metal Gear Rising: Revengance is an in cannon spin-off of the popular and iconic Metal Gear Solid series. In the chronology of the series, Revengance takes place four years after Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots. While working security detail to protect Prime Minister N’Mani in order to end the destruction of war in a country in Africa the Prime Minister is captured and murdered. Raiden then sets out on a mission of vengeance to avenge the Prime Minister’s death. Along the way Raiden uncovers an ongoing conspiracy with Desperado Enterprises that will force him to remember his days as a child solider in Liberia and will shake him to his very core. It is at this point where Raiden struggles to continue to be the man he is today or delve back into becoming Jack the Ripper.
Raiden can also use the blades on his feet to dispatch his foes.
