Despite some graphic hiccups, Capcom's third go-around with zombies should be fun.
Dead Rising 3 introduces a simplistic crafting system, one where you can put together cool combination weapons, provided you have the right tools to put it into place. For instance, the Boomshot requires you to have both grenades and a shotgun. Duct tape these together and you're able to wipe out enemies with exploding shots. Same goes for the sledgesaw, which combines the power of a cement saw with the thunderous "oomph" of a sledgehammer. It's as sweet as it sounds – and just wait till you throw it.
You'll lose these weapons over the course of the game, but you can access storage lockers to utilize them again, along with any others you pick up throughout your journey. The game also lets you choose different outfits you change into on-the-fly, whether it's sexy lingerie or a shark costume, which is rather fitting when it comes to dropping an air strike on an armada of zombies. Because SHARKNADO!
The gameplay resembles the classic Dead Rising mantra, with a go-anywhere, cause-any-kind-of-chaos style of logic. However, it's all put together with the help of a new engine that runs on the Xbox One, one that brings the city to more vivid life than ever before. Of course, that also means more zombies. And good luck with that.
