GamerHub TV was invited to the exclusive reveal OF WWE 2K14.
2K Sports has also added 7 new OMG Moments. These over the top rope moments are designed to do heavy damage to your opponent. All the original OMG Moments are included. OMG Moments never appealed to me in the past because they were to pragmatic. How often does the ring break or a superstar go through the barrier? The two OMG moments that were shown seemed to fit right at home with what you would see in a actual WWE match. The first move was a devastating DDT on the ring apron. In the second move, you can set your opponent’s head near the ring post, and use your foot to drive their skull into the steel. These moves have a stronger impact than before and can lead to achieving a three count.
OMG Moments are more practical and have a stronger impact
While many franchises claim to listen to the fans to improve the next game, 2K Sports has actually done it. One of the most frustrating parts of gameplay from the previous games in the series is the reversal system. In the past the reversal system would always lead into a reversal cahin. What was created to increase the pacing and presentation of the match became a repetitive annoyance. Now, reversals lead to a strike or a grapple rewarding the player and punishing the opponent. Reversals are now more authentic and represent more of the risk vs. reward that the fans and developers are looking for.
Is it now the Macho Man Elbow Drop or the C.M. Punk Elbow Drop? Let's just call it the best elbow in the world
One of the most unique additions to the game is the Catch Finisher. This move allows you to lift your opponent in the air, and catch them with your finisher. While playing the game on my own, I used HBK to lift Stone Cold in the air and catch him with Sweet Chin Music. The move can also be used while on the defensive. If an opponent is running towards you on their own, you can lift them in the air and catch them with a finisher. This is designed to combat players who use running moves like the spear over and over again to gain the advantage in the match. We were not told if weight detection is involved within this mode.
