Xbox Reveal didn't reveal enough for many gamers and what it did reveal didn't help Microsoft.
How important are issues like no backwards compatibility and no used games playback to gamers?
No used game playback (and the inability to easily and freely share games with friends) accounted for 14% of the negative buzz. Some gamers are questioning whether they will still be able to use their favorite game rental services, like GameFly. Backwards compatibility complaints were only responsible for 5% of the negative chatter and seem to be less of an issue.
What did Microsoft gain by having this event so close to E3 and not really showing much games?
It demonstrates that Xbox One is more than just a gaming console. Some of those gamers who were disappointed by yesterday's presentation will be expecting Microsoft to show more gaming features at E3.
Call of Duty Ghosts got a lot of buzz but that's not an exclusive Xbox One game, so how does Microsoft gain from that?
COD: Ghosts is not exclusive to Xbox One; however, it is a launch title for the console and will feature exclusive DLC for Xbox One users. This could make a difference considering the popularity of COD.
What role will E3 play for Xbox One and PS4 now that the press conferences are over?
Microsoft will have the chance to answer some of the questions that gamers are asking at E3, focusing more on the gaming aspects of the entertainment device. Sony has a lot more to gain from E3 since they shared less information at their press conference and didn't even reveal the hardware design.
