Remaster of the Sequel to Croc Legend of the Gobbos

Argonaut Games is delighted to announce Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, a remaster of its beloved sequel to the multi-million-selling hit Croc Legend of the Gobbos, now in development for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, and Windows PC on Steam and GOG.com, featuring enhanced visuals and a range of quality-of-life improvements. Wishlisting is available starting today, with direct links to each platform's Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos page.

Originally released as Croc 2, this remaster restores the title Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, the name used during the game's development.

A Classic Sequel, Remastered

In Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, Croc sets off for the mainland in search of his long-lost parents. However, his journey becomes a showdown as his arch-nemesis, Baron Dante, is resurrected by the Dantinis and vows revenge. Croc's quest takes him through four distinct villages, where he rescues captured Gobbos and faces off against a roster of Guardians, including Soveena the Squid, whose obsession with Ginger Soda makes her a menace to contend with. All of Croc's classic moves are back, but jumping and tail-spinning are just the beginning. Croc can now triple jump, giving him extra height when he needs it most. Croc also rides minecarts, races cars and speedboats, catches air on a hang glider, and takes to the skies in a wooden airplane, across over 40 levels of open-ended 3D platforming. Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos delivers a blend of traditional platforming action with modern enhancements, preserving the feel of the original while introducing another generation to its enduring charm.

Introducing the Croc2pedia

As with the Crocipedia in the first remaster, Argonaut Games is once again assembling an in-game digital museum. The Croc2pedia offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Croc's sophomore adventure, including never-before-seen development materials, cut content, and interviews with the original and remaster teams, tracing the game's creative evolution from early concepts to final completion. Platforms-Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, and Windows (Steam & GOG.com).

A Vision Continued

"We've made no secret of the fact that if Croc did well in the market, the obvious next project would be to remaster Croc 2," said Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games. "Croc's successful return exceeded what we hoped for, and that made the decision easy. Croc 2 was originally built on a totally different engine to Croc, posing its own set of remastering challenges, but the early work we did to validate our approach paid off."

"Croc 2 was always the plan, once we saw how fans embraced the first remaster," said Jez San OBE, Argonaut's founder. "It's a real pleasure to see the next chapter in Croc's story brought to today's modern platforms, and I can't wait for both longtime fans and new players to experience it in glorious HD."

"Being resurrected by an army of sycophantic Dantinis wasn’t on my bingo card, but it worked," said Baron Dante, Croc's arch-nemesis. "That irksome crocodile ruined my last plan, so this time it's personal!" Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos is currently in development and targeting a Q4 2026 release, with further details on release timing and physical editions to be shared later this year. Fans of the original remaster, and newcomers alike, can look forward to another heartwarming, family-friendly adventure packed with platforming challenges, secrets to uncover, and more adorable Gobbos to rescue.
