Unreal Engine 4 technology is powered NVIDIA demos.

How did you work with NVIDIA on the Project SHIELD CES presentation with Unreal Engine 4?

NVIDIA created this great presentation of an exploded Project Shield and they turned it around and it really was a beautiful presentation.  I think everybody sitting in the audience thought it was your typical pre-rendered movie, and then the developer running the presentation moved the mouse and you realized this is real-time. This is an amazing commercial with incredible quality rendering and it came out of Unreal Engine 4. We’re really excited about that and its’ a great segue to the fact that Unreal Engine 4 will deliver games at some point down the road for this platform too. To be able to use it on a high end video graphics card and then later on have games deliver that same technology for a great handheld platform is just great. We just love NVIDIA. They do a great job.

What are your thoughts about what Tegra 4 brings to video games?

Tegra 4, from what I’ve seen of the games, is a lot more powerful than Tegra 3 and I believe more power efficient as well. It will provide a big boost to mobile gaming and handheld games with Project SHIELD and tablet devices.

What does it mean for NVIDIA to choose Unreal technology like this?

To have a company like NVIDIA who is known for doing these most amazing graphics presentations choose Unreal Engine 4 instead of the approaches they’ve taken in the past, and to use our tools and to stretch them and push them and do something that looked really amazing and commercial quality, it’s a huge honor for us.
