The newest Nintendo Direct shows that Nintendo knows what they're doing when it comes to this video game thing.
DK and Diddy Kong are back, this time in 3D. You probably knew that but more details were revealed during the direct presentation. The levels have been redesigned with some going left to right and other going front to back. This redesign will put the 3D from the 3DS to good use. Also, it was determined by Nintendo that DKCR, the Wii version, was tough and had people sitting and playing for awhile.
People don’t usually sit and play handhelds for a long time; I might be the exception but whatever. Anyway, the balance in the game was modified and the “New Mode” mode was recreated to allow for easier game play and items, also to make the game play easier. Luckily, players who felt challenged enough with the Wii version can play the game just like it was on the Wii. There will also be 8 new worlds to explore after you beat the main story. There will be co-op mode as well as local wireless mode so everyone’s happy. Keep some cash handy on May 24th, the physical and digital release date for DKCR3D.
Yoshi will be starring in a new game soon with the look and feel of Kirby’s Epic Yarn. I don’t know how many people were expecting a new Yoshi’s Island that reminds fans of the classic SNES game and not of the DS game that didn’t do too much for the series. Not much is known at this point but Yoshi has the same moves we have grown to love such as the Flutter Jump, Ground Pound, and the ability to throw eggs. When more info is announced, we will bring it to you.
Mario and DK: Minis on the Move brings Mario and Donkey Kong back for more puzzle solving action. Players place tiles on the lower screen and that is basically the map for the minis. You have a limited number of titles to play with at times and that builds on the tough puzzles that the series is known for. You’ll also be able to download and create your own levels for everyone to play. Combine that with mini games and Nintendo has a winning formula. Mario and DK: Minis on the Move will be downloadable May 9th.
That does it for part 1 so be sure to stay tuned for part 2 of the Nintendo Direct Recap. There’s a lot more info to get to and many more games from the Big N to get to. Check it out!
