Mutate if you want to live!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at the Ground Zero Hero Demo on Steam. This game reminded me a lot of Vampire Survivors, if that game had crazy mutations.
As I mentioned prior, this game reminded me a lot of Vampire Survivors. There are a lot of games that try to do the auto attacker genre. Ground Zero Hero ids one of the better ones I have played. You come out of your bomb shelter to greet the day and see the monster/mutant swarm coming after you. Along the way, you'll be able to level up your toxic avenger and grab new skills/attacks to survive. Some of my favorite attacks from the demo were the fireball attack, the egg laying, and the vulture. You'll be able to upgrade skills, and you'll need them as enemies come at you quickly. You'll also be able to find safes strewn about that you can unlock for coins. You'll have to stay in the vicinity of the safe to unlock it. That could be tricky with all the mutants around.
There is also a hunger meter that you'll have to keep track of. On the plus side, you can find food out in the wilderness. Let me clear this up, you find dinosaur pinatas with candy hidden in them. You take care of the hunger pangs by eating candy. There are cows that you can ride on in locations. These make you move faster for a short time. Blast through enemy swarms while on cows since you can mow down enemy hordes. Be careful though because the cow has a limited time and explodes. That will take care of a group of enemies, but you'll be minus one cow.
You can upgrade your skills as you level up. The extra power might be all you need to survive. You're tasked with taking down a certain number of mutants. Then the boss monster shows up. The boss is much more powerful than the rest and has different attacks so try and prepare. If you're looking for a fun, goofy time, check out Ground Zero Hero.
