Let's get angry!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at The Angry Video Game Nerd 8 Bit!
I like old school NES games and The Angry Video Game Nerd 8 Bit feels right out of that mold. The game has platforming that is tough as well as gameplay that will piss you off. Being pissed off during the Angry Video Game Nerd video game seems like a good fit. There were times when I thought I made the checkpoint only to be sent back to the start. Spikes are a one hit KO, another NES staple. You'll be able to find upgrades to you health and weapons but don't get hit. Getting hit results in you losing your upgrade and if you don't get them back quickly, there gone. The game is set up like Mega Man where you can pick any level you want but some are tougher than others.
The game is just like an episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd and that's a good thing. As you progress through the game, there will be different cut scenes from the Nerd himself, like he's actually talking to you. Fans of the series will get all the references and will enjoy it. It's a fun tribute to the Angry Video Game Nerd. Now, if only the platforming was a little better.
