A planet after your own image!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at the Curiosmos Demo on Steam.
Curiosmos tells the age old story of what would happen if you could create your own planet from scratch. The planet you create is like a child and you need to take care of it. At the start of the game, you grab all kinds of space rocks/debris and throw them into your planet to build it. You can speak to the sun for advice in the system as well. You'll also have the help of a satellite named Curio for your space escapades. From gathering ice/water for your planet to creating rain clouds, you'll have to do all kinds of things for your planet. Long story short, you're tasked with creating the solar system and filling it with all kinds of planets and such.
The demo crashed on me quite a few times while I was trying to capture footage. There were times when I would try to talk to the sun and it was load an window where the sun was trying to talk to me but couldn't. I think a camera that couldn't move would make things better too. There were times where I was trying to collect ice and then Curio was no where to be seen because he was moving around our new planet. It couldn't hurt to have a better system to say what you're actually supposed to do in the game too. Seeing little thought clouds from the planets is cute but it doesn't really parlay what to do. The way the sun has a talk cloud over its head would be nice for other characters too. I know it's an early demo build and Curiosmos has a lot to look forward to.
