Check out the newest Chichuki Views with Songs of Silence.

It's that time again for the next episode of Chichuki Views. This time around we're checking out Songs of Silence. This is an early build of a work in progress game and it shows that at times. The game combines strategy with trading card game aspects when you fight but I'll get more into that in a moment. I'll start with the good and that's the voice acting. The voice acting is great and I was really getting attached to Lorelei in the short time I was able to play with her. I was also find of the narrator as well. The graphics are really well done thus far as well. You're able to set up your troops for combat in a grid system but the combat was where I had a major issue with this demo. What I mean by that is, I couldn't even get the battles to start. The battles are auto-combat, where they start on their own and you monitor the situation. That being said, other than the forced first fight of the demo, I wasn't able to fight anything. I left the first chapter demo and jumped into the second and I was able to move my troops at least but I again, not able to start the combat.

Another issue I had was that it appeared that there was no way to exit out of certain screens as well as lack of a settings menu. It would have been nice to be able to change the size of the screen or make it a windowed display but that might be put in a later build. When I would check the stats of certain things like a town or enemy, I didn't like the fact that I was unable to get back to the over world map. Again, I'm chalking these issues up to it being an early work in progress build. That being said, I'm giving Songs of Silence an incomplete at this time.Check out the Chichuki Views episode below for gameplay and my thoughts.
