Check out Wrestle Story from Tic Toc Games!
I was able to set some time aside to stop by the Tic Toc Games booth and see their new game, Wrestle Story. Wrestle Story is an role-playing game where wrestling is everything. Create your own wrestler and go toe to toe with your party to be the best wrestler ever
Make your fighter the way you want to. Customize their look,, their entrance music, their backstory and more. If you can think it, there’s a pretty good chance you can customize it in Wrestle Story. Long story short, you’re trying to end a conspiracy that could rock wrestling to its very core. You’ll be able to travel to the Five Territories in style, in your Pinnebago. The Pinnebago is the ideal mode of transportation for wrestlers.
Along your journey, you will find all kinds of power-ups/equipment that will help in quest to be the best. You should use the best equipment you can find as that might be the advantage you need in a match to win. The matches are turn based and are straight forward role-playing battles. Your party goes up against the enemy. The major difference is that you will need to weaken the enemy and pin them to remove them from the battle. I love in these wrestling role-playing games that you have to pin the enemy at the end of the match.
You can also have tag team attacks that will do even more damage. Think of these as combo attacks with your party members. You will also have to keep an eye on your stamina during matches in addition to your health. Think of stamina as your power points. Without stamina you won’t be able to use strong attacks.
Pushing buttons at the right time or tilting the control stick are basic attacks in Wrestle Story. You’ll be able get stronger attacks as you level up as well as different abilities. You’ll be able to recruit 6 tag team party members and build your relationship with them throughout the story. The better the relationship, the better abilities and attacks you’ll have at your disposal.
Finding the right equipment will help you determine what type of fighter you want that party member to be. For example, if you find padded boots that could better your defense or if you find head gear you could become stronger. It’s up to you what type of fighter you want to be.
In the demo, I love the idea that one of the factions is like a Frat house and the enemy fighters and boss are like frat boys. Smashing the boss of the demo through a table felt right on so many levels. The graphical styling for Wrestle Story works as well. The writing is fun and combine that with the cartoon-like animation and it feels like a good mix. Rally your fans on the turn buckle for a super move for massive damage; yes please!
