Find out if you could survive a zombie uprising in Deadcraft!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a review code for Deadcraft, a zombie survival game from the fine folks at XSEED/Marvelous Games. I was also lucky enough to give it a test run at this year's PAX East in Boston. You play the role of Reid, zombie hunter, and you're trying to figure our what's going on. You also have to use everything available to you for survival. That means anything you can pick up/find will go towards you living or dying. That being said, I never like the stamina meter in games and Deadcraft is no different. In this, you have to monitor your eating AND drinking meter so there are two meters you have to keep an eye on at all times. You'll be knocking on death's door if you aren't too careful. That being said, you'll be able to find all kinds of rations, either on the ground or around the area, that you will have to make good use of. I had an issue with the map where it felt like it was very difficult to read where I was trying to go. It felt like it was inverted where I thought I was going one direction and it turned out I was going a totally different one. There are people you can interact with in towns and one of the cool features is you can shake them down for items if you want to. However, if you do something illiegal like rob or kill someone, you will get a reputation and that could take some time to get rid of. If you become a wanted man, you might have other townsfolk coming after you to take the law into their own hands, if you know what I mean. Check out the "Chichuki Views" video below to see why I'm giving Deadcraft on Steam an 8/10.
