With the recent news in the video game world regarding the PS4 and Nintendo games, the question becomes what will E3 have left in the tank come June?
What better way to hype a new Mario Kart
Speaking of fail, what is Microsoft doing when all this is going on? Does Microsoft have internet videos previewing new games starring their beloved characters? Don’t think so. Do they have a ballroom booked in New York City to reveal the next Xbox? Nope. It feels like Microsoft is left out in the cold on this one but could this be perfect strategy on their part? Let the fanfare of the PS4 die down and then strike with the new Xbox. It’s so crazy it just might work. Going to need a lot more than Halo to save this mess that is
To recap what could be a low-key E3 this year, the hype of the PS4 should still be fresh enough for them to gain momentum when they actually show the system as well as more games and accessories for the new system. I’m still waiting for the Sony system that only plays on Sony televisions but I’m going off topic here. Nintendo can cash in on the history of Mario and the Mario Kart franchise and we can finally see how to drive a car with a Gamepad, if that’s what Nintendo decides to do with Mario Kart.
Smash Brothers will also make an appearance and these games in themselves could hold Nintendo and their fans over till the holidays. Microsoft is a mystery at this point. I can’t imagine them waiting too much longer to mention a new system, let alone bringing it out to the masses. But I guess this is why I’m not in a position where I can make E3 decisions. I could see Sony and Nintendo being winners at E3 this year but the show might have a laid back feel to it. These companies won’t go into E3 cold and they always have something up their sleeves.
