Here's my rundown of what's been said, what I'm hoping for, and what we can expect now (with no confirmations) on the Orbis/PS4. Don't get your jimmies rustled until the official launch -- this is simply a prediction article!
4. NEW GAMES
Most importantly, the launch of a new system means games that, we all hope, will blow us away in their art, functionality and challenge. The new titles -- such as Assassin's Creed 4, which Ubisoft recently teased and nearly spawned a terrible uproar with -- are already being announced, and with any luck large events such as E3 will bring the details we so very much crave. Gaming will always move forward.
THE DREAM: Amazing graphics, storylines that make you cry, and engaging combat systems that challenge the way you're used to playing games.
THE DOUBT: While this point is generally simple, most studios seem to be taking their time in picking their first titles for the new system. Given that nothing has been released as far as functionality goes, we probably won't be hearing about new games until late spring. But with this new era comes the ever present challenge to succeed to blow gamers away with graphics, story lines, and gameplay that continues to raise the bar for competitors.
