Get reintroduced to the Gunstacker in our preview of Serious Sam's return to HD.

The variety of enemies will make the Gunstacker very useful.

The gameplay in Serious Sam Double D XXL is the focal point of this title. We only had a short time with the game, but the true shining star of Serious Sam Double D XXL is the Gunstacker mechanic. The Gunstacker allows Serious Sam to combine and literally stack guns to create an unstoppable weapon. In our playthrough, we were able to collect connectors that allowed us to stack two tommy guns and two shotguns into an awesome weapon of destruction. Gunstacking is not the only way you can alter your arsenal. You can collect currency by defeating enemies and spend them to upgrade your weaponry. Combine that with Gunstacking and you add a level of customization that rivals any game on the market. There is no other way to describe it except simply saying that Gunstacking is a blast.

You will never look at pancakes the same way again.

Our time with Serious Sam Double D XXL was short but it left us wanting more. We are addicted to Gunstacking and cannot wait for the full version of the game to unleash its potential all over our enemies. While the game’s graphics will not impress, the sheer amount and variety of enemies on screen at once is insanely fun. Mommy’s Best Games promises tons of weapons, Gunstacking upgrades, and enemies in the full game release. Did we mention the fact that there is a second playable character for double Gunstacking pleasure? For more, stay tuned to GamerHub.TV for our full review in the coming weeks!
