Traveling to the past has never been this gory.
Serious Sam Double D XXL is an updated version of the indie game Serious Sam Double D and it is loads of fun. We were only allowed to preview the game up until level 6, but even in that short amount of time we were blasted away by what we saw. The presentation of Serious Sam Double D XXL is gritty and unpolished just like the main character. Nothing about the environment pops out as being particularly impressive. It’s not dull, but in an era where everything is pushed to the limit with HD, it seems to be a little behind. The platforming elements however are impressive and the unpolished environment allows for more focus on the gameplay, the enemies, and the guns.
