Hit 3DS game available as a digital download on the eShop.
The 3D graphics make the game look great and doesn’t have that “just thrown in” feeling like other 3DS games. The cut scenes aren’t in 3D but that doesn’t deter from the game. The fact that there are so many extras like that adds to the game. There are many things for you to achieve and collect while playing through, like most fighting games have. The controls, which are tough to get the hang of at first, but once you figure them out, it makes the game much easier to play. Combine that with the touch screen control design and you will be fighting like a pro in no time.
Online play is becoming the norm in this era of video games and Street Fighter IV 3D has plenty to do online. It really does a great job showing off all the 3DS has to do online. Streetpass and Spotpass gives players the ability to play random players online as well as play their friends in fights too. You can put in specific rules and regulations so you can have a fair fight while you play online and so you don’t get destroyed by someone who has more experience. You can also have Figure battles, where you can interact/battle people with a group of Street Fighter “toys.” You can collect points to buy more “toys” by winning matches in different modes of battle and you can trade for more figures but this action can’t be performed online.
You can set a Streetpass “toy pass” to battle on the Streetpass service and you can gain points whenever your “toy pass” battles. Street Fighter IV 3D Edition has several things going for it but at times the controls aren’t the tightest they could be and some of the time you find your character jumping or not being able to block, the issues that have been burdening fighting games for years. Forget about the slight control issues and you have yourself a great game that has a lot to offer the many players that have been fans of the Street Fighter series for years. It’s these reasons that I’m giving Street Fighter 4 3D Edition for the Nintendo 3DS a 9/10, a game that brings so many things to the table.
