What will Phenias and Ferb do today? Find out in our review!
The gameplay in Phineas and Ferb: Quest For Cool Stuff is simple and straightforward. Remember, this is a game aimed at kids so the controls are not complicated. As Phineas and Ferb, you control the A.T.T., which allows you to explore temples, underwater locations, and the moon! The controls are mapped to a few buttons that allow you to switch between the brothers and complete different actions. You use a drill to break through different areas on the map. This drill can be upgraded along with the paint job and wheels by collecting sprockets and gears throughout your travels. These gears can be used along with your tool box to upgrade the Museum of Cool Stuff.
You are also tasked with finding 5 secret chests and 3 Ducky MoMo (yes, the awesome Ducky MoMo!) toys throughout each level that will increase the amount of gears you leave with and add artifacts to your Museum of Cool. Also while playing in the backyard hub, you will receive visits from a few familiar faces that will give you side quests to achieve. There are also side missions and mini games that inject some variety into the gameplay which can become a little stale and boring after a hour. There may not be a lot to the gameplay, but there is a lot of content to explore and a lot of fun to be had.
If you are a fan of Phineas and Ferb, then this game is for you. The game plays like a episode of the show as you switch between the adventures of Phineas and Ferb and Secret Agent P. The liitle touches like Dr. Doofenshmirtz taunting Agent P during the missions or Candace talking on the phone and mentioning Ducky MoMo or Jeremy shows that the developers truly love this show. The game does have its frustrating moments but the simple gameplay allows you to correct these mistakes and enjoy the experience. The game feels like you are watching an interactive version of the show, and that is a good thing. As we attempt to enjoy what is left of summer, Phineas and Ferb continue to capture that child like sentiment of just how important the season is.
