On the technical side, the game plays very well. While playing, I did notice a few times where the frame rate dropped. This however did not hinder the gameplay and is to be expected on a mobile game that demands this much graphical performance. The cars perform as you would expect them to at a real rally race. The cars shake and vibrate while tearing up the dirt and gravel. The game sounds incredible. The sounds of the tires grabbing and releasing the earth as you speed around the course is great and demands headphones to truly value the experience.
Colin McRae Rally is a fantastic racing game that continues the tradition of the franchise. The game provides a great mobile racing experience. The cars handle very well and the sound is great. The game lacks inventive and interesting environments even though the rallies are set in great locations around the world. The game also has a very small selection of cars available at launch. Still, Colin McRae Rally is very fun and worth the download for rally fans. For racing fans, I have to recommend Real Racing 3.
