During gameplay, the cars also handle very well. The cars are accurate to their type and driving each one feels completely different and accurate. The downside is that there are only four cars in the game. While the potential is there for more cars to be added in the future with a update, this is a disappointing number of vehicles to start out with. You begin the game with the Ford Focus. With the Focus, you can begin to shift gears through the Championship mode within the game. This will allow you to unlock the other three cars available.
The game modes in Colin McRae Rally are Championship, Single Rally, and Single Stage. You will want to spend most of your time in the Championship mode, as it will open up other rallies that can be used in Single Rally and Single Stage modes. The Championship mode is a frustrating endeavor as you are forced to constantly compete on the same tracks over and over again. Grinding through the mode will reward you with more cars and tracks but it sometimes does not seem worth the time.
