Arrive. Raise hell. Leave.
You know Sony's initiative to get great indie games on its PlayStation consoles? I'd say we just found a major reason to believe in it.
Sony has done something remarkable inking a deal with Dennaton Games to bring the PC hit Hotline Miami to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita as a Cross-Buy title. For $15, you get to play this 8-bit-inspired gem anywhere you please, whether it's with your console or on the road through your Vita. And since you have access to Cloud Saves, you can continue said game however you please. Just be prepared for a lot of restarts. No, really. A. LOT. OF. RESTARTS.
In the game, you're a nameless thug called upon to complete missions. Most of them involve cleaning out some low-rent condo or club, where thugs are scattered in rooms and get trigger happy upon hearing something the wrong way. You'll do an animal mask – with more unlocked as the game goes on – and use any weapon you can get your hands on to kill your enemies. Sometimes you can punch them; others, you'll need something a bit more effective, like a shotgun or a crowbar. Then you can finish them off with a final blow, like a few punches to the face or a fearsome curb stomp.
But be warned – these thugs are SMART. They will charge at you and kill you within one hit if you're not prepared, or come firing around a corner without thinking twice. At that point, you'll need to start all over again.
