The one new addition to the supplemental material is a featurette entailed Inside Story: National Lampoon’s Vacation. This documentary has a runtime of 85 minutes and promises to give you a inside look on the film and its stars. This documentary is surprisingly deep, as it covers the film from script to wrap. The feature boasts behind the scenes footage interspersed with moments and photos create a great love letter to the film. The feature is really good and will be treasured by the fans of the film.
Chevy is funny still to this day.
National Lampoon’s Vacation 30th Anniversary Edition is a little disappointing. While the Inside Story documentary is a great addition, every other aspect of the film is exactly the same from it’s previous release. While the movie is amazing, it is difficult to give a high score to recycled content. The new content is great and makes me long for the day where Blu-Ray discs enter the DLC market. While the documentary is great, it is not worth buying the same content for a second time. If you do not own the movie yet, then this is the edition for you but as a whole, this “special edition” is a little disappointing.
John Candy's cameo is hilarious.
Score: 6 / 10
