Should you reopen the door to this mystery? Find out inour review!

The unsettling humor of the original is still present, and packs even more of a supernatural punch than before. The game is reminiscent of a B level horror flick that possesses unintentional humor. There are moments where the game puts on its serious face only to receive a chorus of laughter from you the player. While the unintentionally funny moments are great, the game also provides intended laughs that you will enjoy. Character introductions are presented with a dramatic still frame and title entrances that add levity to the more horrific moments.

The serial killer is a great survival horror boss.

One element that has survived from the original is the horror. There are many scares to be had in Deadly Premonition, and most of them deliver. The spirits that you face within the game start off innocent and quickly become and indulgent sin. The spirits have the ability to blink towards you with various speeds, keeping you on your toes at all times. You must keep moving while playing because as soon as you feel safe, there is a spirit behind you attempting to rip off your flesh. The creatures grown and moan with a haunting tone that will stay with you long after you hit the power switch. This is survival horror at its finest.

Scenes are gruesome and disturbing.
