Take a step into the metro with this Metro: Last Light review!
The whole survival aspect to this game is really fun, and makes the game pretty suspenseful. What I noticed when playing was that saving ammo is the most important thing you need to survive. There has been a number of times when all I would have is my knife, and would have to run around like an idiot looking for loot to pick up from dead bodies. Although this isn’t really a problem, it is a huge pain. I was a fan of the new gun customization system in the game. It was amazing in the start, but then I later find that it was just a little pointless. I would just get done adding a new attachment to the gun, and minutes later I would find the same on the ground.
The story really makes this game, trust me. In the first look, the game was kind of boring and mostly dialogues with very little action. It was kind of hard to get into, but I toughed it out and it was way worth it. After about ¼ of the game, it really picks up. It gets more in depth and more intense, and you start to get a feel of it. By this point, you have created a real friendship with Artyom, and you start to care what happens to him. I believe that Metro: Last Light was exactly what this genre needs. It gives you that horror feel, the feel of not knowing if you should save the bullets that you need, or risk your life being taken by a mutant. It also gives the feeling of satisfaction when you shoot somebody in the face. Compared to the last edition in the series, I think that the developers really stepped up their game.
