This spin-off is a bizarre piece of the future from the past.  Confused?  Just play it and enjoy.

Sure, for $15, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, might be hard for some to accept considering its dwindled length (compared to the original game, anyway) and its lack of multiplayer.  But you get more than your money's worth out of hidden goodies, exceptional audio, exciting gameplay and enough 80's references to make you run a marathon with Aliens, The Terminator and Escape From New York, all in one shot.  (And hey, maybe throw in some I Come In Peace for good measure – look it up.)  "The future" is looking bright for Ubisoft indeed…you have to wonder just how an 80's Assassin's Creed would wind up being.

"Death by laser hand blade.  RAD!"

Score: 8.5 / 10
