The Get Connected UltraViolet Movie Starter Pack digital movie promotion debuted at CES.

To kick off the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show, studio presidents of DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, announced during the Opening Keynote the industry-wide Get Connected UltraViolet Movie Starter Pack, a groundbreaking digital movie promotion with enhanced consumer benefits being launched by members of the DEG and leading consumer electronics manufacturers.

Coming later this year, with the support of major retailers, consumers who purchase an eligible connected TV or connected Blu-ray Disc player will receive free UltraViolet-enabled titles from Lionsgate, Paramount Home Media Distribution, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Home Entertainment or Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Consumers who purchase eligible connected Blu-ray Disc players will receive redemption codes for five UltraViolet-enabled titles, while those who purchase eligible connected TVs will receive redemption codes for 10 UltraViolet-enabled titles.

“UltraViolet provides consumers with the freedom to enjoy the content they own no matter where or how they purchased it,” said Ron Sanders, President of the DEG Board of Directors and President, Warner Home Video. “Our partnership with the consumer electronics manufacturers is great for both of our industries and especially for the consumer.”

Participating consumer electronics manufacturers supporting the UltraViolet promotion include LG Electronics, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sony Electronics, Toshiba and Vizio. Participating service providers include Best Buy’s CinemaNow, Flixster, Nook Video and VUDU.
