The Guardians of Middle Earth are here to defend your consoles but is it worth the battle? Find out in our review!

Gameplay in Guardians of Middle Earth is difficult yet satisfying. Monolith Productions took the normally table top approach to MOBA and brought it to home consoles. Plying as the Guardians of Middle Earth allows player to take control of twenty heroes ranging from Gandolf to Sauron each having their own unique powers and upgrades. The use of spells and weapons of the game is fun it always feels awesome to slay a monster or a brigade of soldiers. One of the main complications from gameplay is the menu system. The system can at times be hard to navigate if you are not familiar with the power ups, gems, and upgrades that come with a MOBA. Players new to the genre may be deterred by this and miss out on really awesome yet at times overly complicated game. The game is also only available to be played online with other players so a Xbox Live Gold account is required. Up to 10 people can play at once in teams of two that coordinate to defeat towers, take over bases, and defend Middle Earth.

Up to 10 players can take part in your epic battles.

Guardians of Middle Earth is fun and an absolutely must have for any fan of the series. The game allows you to step into the shoes of the Guardians and take control of the battle for Middle Earth. There are a variety of gameplay modes to keep players busy and coming back for more. While the game does force you into a steep learning curve for those not familiar with the genre, there is a lot to enjoy about this game. It may not be accessible to the casual gamer, which means many gamers will miss out on this epic experience. The game is avialable to download for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Netowork. The game is also avaialble in disc format.

Score: 7 / 10
