Gameplay in Guardians of Middle Earth is difficult yet satisfying. Monolith Productions took the normally table top approach to MOBA and brought it to home consoles. Plying as the Guardians of Middle Earth allows player to take control of twenty heroes ranging from Gandolf to Sauron each having their own unique powers and upgrades. The use of spells and weapons of the game is fun it always feels awesome to slay a monster or a brigade of soldiers. One of the main complications from gameplay is the menu system. The system can at times be hard to navigate if you are not familiar with the power ups, gems, and upgrades that come with a MOBA. Players new to the genre may be deterred by this and miss out on really awesome yet at times overly complicated game. The game is also only available to be played online with other players so a Xbox Live Gold account is required. Up to 10 people can play at once in teams of two that coordinate to defeat towers, take over bases, and defend Middle Earth.
