Another great gaming year has gone by and another equally great one looks to be on the horizon. These are five of the most anticipated games of 2013.
4) Bioshock Infinite
When I first heard about the newest entry into the Bioshock series I was a little hesitant due to my disappointment with Bioshock 2, but it looks like developer Irrational Games is proving me wrong. Infinite takes place in 1912 in the fictional floating city of Columbia where main character Booker must rescue a kidnapped girl named Elizabeth, but strange events have occurred on Columbia since it was unveiled meaning his mission is not going to be easy. What really makes this one appealing is the transition from the underwater, enclosed environments of Rapture to the gorgeous, expansive and vertical environments of Columbia. The fact that the city is floating through the clouds and constantly moving makes the city feel alive and realistic in a way and seems like it will add some fantastic strategic elements to the gameplay. Along with this, Elizabeth helps you in combat by giving you ammo or using her magic abilities which makes her a useful companion rather than one you’re escorting who whines whenever they’re caught. Coupled with new weapons, new powers and a charismatic protagonist it’s shaping up to offer a fresh new FPS experience and I’m really looking forward to March 26, 2013 to see how the finished product holds up.
