Can you defeat the streak in WWE 2K14?
While defeating the Streak is the real challenge, you will also get a chance to step into the immortal boots of the Undertaker and defend your Streak against other challengers. While the basic one on one matches are obvious, it is the addition of yet another new mode that makes this option special.
There is a special gauntlet mode within “Defend the Streak” that allows you to take on 21 other superstars at WrestleMania! As the Undertaker, you must try and survive an onslaught of wrestlers trying to dethrone you from greatness. After every defeat, another superstar enters the ring, and your health stays the same. This is a true test for the WWE Universe. This mode also transitions over into Single Player Exhibition matches in a mode called Slobberknocker where the same rules apply and you can choose to be any WWE Superstar.
With these new fantastic additions to the already amazing game, 2K Sports truly wants to encourage player interaction within the WWE Universe. While playing through The Streak mode, players can upload their scores and stats for all of the WWE Universe to see and compete with. By doing this, 2K Sports is taking a giant step in building a true fan community within the game, like many of their other titles, which should only flourish in the years to come.
With largest roster ever, 30 Years of WrestleMania, and The Streak mode, WWE 2K14 is showing that is more than just another wrestling game wearing a different mask. The team at 2K Sports is working hard to create a truly unique and nostalgic experience that showcases the giant leaps and bounds the game has made since it’s last inception. This is not just another WWE game. We have seen it. We have met the team behind it. We know how involved WWE COO Triple H is in making sure the game is what’s “best for business”. With all these improvements, it will be sin not to pick up WWE 2K14 on October 29. I mean, someone has to beat up 3MB, right?
