Developer Flying Wild Hog looks to capture the witty, gory, pun filled and overly violent nature of the original Shadow Warrior in an updated reimagining
What makes this reboot so special is the added focus on the melee combat, most specifically with the samurai sword. The ability to dismember any body part and a load of special moves makes melee combat fun again and gives the game some much needed variety from the traditional gunplay of the FPS genre.
Reminiscent of over-the-top action games like Painkiller, Shadow Warrior looks to be just as outrageous but with a more realistic tone. Featuring an upgradeable arsenal from quad barreled shotguns to explosive crossbows, precision swordplay mechanics, updated 3D visuals an engaging story and combat, Shadow Warrior looks to reimagine the FPS genre to keep it from going stale.
Shadow Warrior makes its way on to the Steam Store September 26 and is currently available for $33.99 as a pre-purchase or $39.99 regular price after its release. Until then, the original Shadow Warrior is also on the Steam store for free so you can prepare yourself for the onslaught and kick some 8-bit demon ass back to the shadow realm before the release.
