A new handheld from the kings of handhelds and Zelda news. Does it get any better than this?

It appears that Nintendo is getting an early jump on the holiday rush this year with news of the Deluxe Wii U price cut to $250.00 starting September 20th. This is news that probably everyone saw coming with the poor Wii U sale numbers. This is one of the sale techniques that gets Nintendo back into the game. Like with the 3DS, it starts with a high-ish price at launch and then gets lowered just in time for the better games to release.

To keep the news Wii U related, there is going to be a new Wii U bundle related to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD going on sale the same day as the Wii U price cut, September 20th. This bundle will be sold at $300.00 dollars but for what you get with it, it’s totally worth it. You get the black Wii U Deluxe console, Game Pad with Zelda-esque gold lettering/symbols and let’s be honest; it wouldn’t be Zelda themed without them. You’ll also get a code for a digital copy of the Hyrule timeline, Hyrule Historia, and a code to download The Wind Waker HD from the Nintendo eShop, with no additional cost. The game launches October 4th, both physical and digital and Gamestop will have a special Ganondorf figure bundled with the physical version for $54.99.

Now for the other news of the day, the Nintendo 2DS, the newest handheld from the kings of the handheld market. In a nutshell the 2DS is a combination of the 3DS and the DS. It doesn’t fold up like the DS did and it doesn’t have the 3D display/aspect the 3DS has. The 2DS will play DS games as well as 3DS games, without the 3D effects and will have 3D photo-taking capabilities. You’ll be able to get it in either Red or Blue for a retail price of $130 bucks. From videos shown online, there will be cases available for the system that look like old school cd cases.
